THE RICHARDS Bay Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) is now officially open for business. The IDZ, which has to some extent been idle since it was established, has finally secured an operator's licence.

The permit means that it will compete on an equal footing with similar zones in the country because it will be able to extend normal IDZ facilities and incentives to enterprises that operate within the zone.
