Executive Manager – Safety, Health, Environment and Quality

Sihle joined the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone in May 2010 as Executive Manager for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ). His primary role within the RBIDZ is to develop and ensure implementation of the international best practices with regards to environmental management, health and safety whilst being driven by the principle of continual improvement.

Before joining the RBIDZ, Sihle worked for BHP Billiton Aluminium South Africa as HSEQ Management Systems Specialist. He also worked for the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Environmental Affairs as an Assistant Director and was later promoted to the position of Deputy Director position, where he was entrusted with the functions of Environmental Management, Environmental laws reform, Compliance and Enforcement. Earlier in his career he worked as an educator for Geography studies at the Senior Phase level and also as a Lecturer for Geography and Environmental Studies at the University of Zululand.
