Vusi Khumalo

Vusi Khumalo is the Acting Chairman. He has a B.A. University Education Diploma from the University of Zululand, B.A.(Honours) from the University of Witwatersrand and an MSc.in Maritime and Transport Management from the University of Antwerp (Belgium). He currently serves on various Boards, including the EThekwini Maritime Cluster, Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Councillor Celiwe Q. Madlopha

Councillor Celiwe Q. Madlopha, the Deputy Mayor of UMhlathuze Municipality. She holds a National Diploma in Public Management from the University of Zululand, a Municipal Manager’s Certificate and a Certificate in Management Development both from the University of Durban Westville.

Zamo Gwala

Zamo Gwala is currently the Chief Executive of Trade and Investment KZN as of 2006. He has a BCom (Hons) and MBA qualifications. From 1990 to 2006, Zamo held several positions in Project Finance, Project Management, Sales and Marketing in companies such as Eskom, Siemens and IDC.

Sipho D. Shabalala

Sipho D. Shabalala, holds a Master’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Natal. He currently serves on various Boards and Committees, including the Management Executive Committee of the KZN Province; the Forum for South Africa’s Directors-General. He is a Member of the KZN Province BBBEE Advisory Council.

Elphas Mbatha

Elphas Mbatha is currently the Speaker of UMhlathuze Municipality. He has held various positions within the Local Government sector, for over 15 years. He currently serves as a Board member of Downstream Aluminium Centre for Technology (DACT), and is also a council member of the Umfolozi FET. He holds a BA Degree from the University of Zululand, a Masters Degree from University of Free State, and is currently studying towards a PhD in Governance and Political Transformation.
